Unicyclist Kellen Lemler visited the Pierceton Elementary fourth-grade classes recently. Lemler performed several ‘tricks’ on his unicycle for the students, including going up and down stairs while riding the unicycle. He also discussed the perseverance and practice needed to accomplish a feat that is difficult, such as learning to ride a unicycle. He explained to the students that he always put his studies before his unicycle practice, knowing how important they were to him in the long run. Lemler discussed the origins of the word ‘unicycle’, teaching students to break the word down into its respective parts. This was a program that the students thoroughly enjoyed and learned a great deal from.
