ARGOS - Ula Cole, 88, died at 6:15 a.m. Jan. 18, 2009, in Life Care Center of Rochester, where she resided.

She was born March 24, 1920, in Salyersville, Ky., to Noah and Maude Coffee Rudd. On March 29, 1935, in Salyersville, she married Homer Cole, who died in 1980.

She moved to Marshall County from West Liberty, Ky., 38 years ago and was a homemaker.

Surviving are four sons: Darrell W. Cole and Ron (and spouse Doris) Cole, all of Lebanon; Larry (and spouse Virginia) Cole, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Philip (and spouse Lori) Cole, Lakeville; two daughters, Sue (and spouse Willie) Castle and Medrith (and spouse Jerry) Lard, all of Argos; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; four sisters: Pauline (and spouse Sterling) Taylor, Stockbridge, Mich.; Edna Penix and Barbara (and spouse Bert) Daniels, all of Salyersville; and Ausgustine Castle, Flat Gap, Ky.; two brothers, Hurndon Rudd, Rochester, and E.J. (and spouse Mary Ellis) Russ, Salyersville. She was preceded in death by three sons, three daughters, five brothers and three sisters.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Magoffin County Funeral Home, Salyersville, with Pastor Esknovah Jackson officiating. Burial will be in Rudd Family Cemetery, Salyersville.

Calling is from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos, and from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Magoffin County Funeral Home, Salyersville.
