NORTH WEBSTER - A Nappanee toddler suffered critical injuries Tuesday evening when he was run over by a pickup near North Webster.
According to Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine, Daniel Gingerick, 2, jumped or fell from the back of a pickup driven by his father, 39-year-old Samuel A. Gingerick of CR 50, Nappanee. The elder Gingerick was pulling a boat out of the water at the public access ramp of Kuhn Lake when the 5:25 p.m. accident occurred.
The younger Gingerick was apparently run over twice and suffered head injuries. He was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw before being airlifted to Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. He was later airlifted to Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis, where information on his condition was not available this morning.
