Brandon Scott Mulldune, 32, of the same address, was booked in KCJ at 7:50 p.m. Sunday and faces charges for rape, a Level 1 felony; robbery with a deadly weapon, a Level 3 felony; criminal confinement, a Level 3 felony; battery while armed with a deadly weapon causing serious bodily injury, a Level 5 felony; intimidation with a deadly weapon, a Level 5 felony; criminal organization activity, a Level 5 felony; and pointing a firearm, a Level 6 felony.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed Wednesday in Kosciusko Superior Court I, at 8:40 a.m. Sunday Warsaw police responded to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Work Release Center in reference to an individual there who was in distress and fleeing from people trying to harm him.
Upon arrival, officers met with the man who said he was staying at the Deluxe Inn with his girlfriend and that his girlfriend left with a friend a short time earlier. Sometime later, according to the affidavit, a woman and White showed up at the hotel room and once inside the room, White said he was going to steal the room’s TV.
According to the victim, White stole the TV and then all three left together to go to White’s house. The man told police that once at White and Mulldune’s residence, they went into White’s bedroom and Mulldune appeared and pointed a gun at him and had a crowbar in his waistband. Mulldune then packed a round in the chamber of the gun and told the man “this is what he going to get,” according to court papers. While in the bedroom, Mulldune and White beat the man with the gun in his face, head and body. The man told police that at one point during the beating, Mulldune held him down and White pulled down the man’s pants and forced an object into his rectum, according to the affidavit.
The woman who was present at the home with them told police she feared for her life and hid in a bathroom and could hear the man screaming in agony during the beating, according to court papers. The woman also told police she could hear White and Mulldune yelling gang terminology during the beating.
When the woman came out of the bathroom, she told police she saw the man lying on the floor, severely beaten and White kicking him telling him to get up. The woman also told police she was scared and did not know how she would be able to leave the home, so she texted her boyfriend to tell him what was going on. The woman said her boyfriend initially did not believe her and began to suspect the woman was cheating on her. According to court papers, White questioned the woman about using her phone, so she told him her boyfriend was upset.
White and Mulldune then allegedly forced the female to drive the four of them to a home in Palestine where the victim was ordered to provide a check to White and Mulldune to make up for crossing them. As they were waiting for the man to get the check inside the home, White allegedly told the woman driving that if she acted weird or tried to call out for help then White would go inside the home and kill everybody.
When the man could not locate the check, according to the affidavit, he instead found tools and other items to give to Mulldune and White. The four then drove the Phillips 66 gas station on East Center Street, across from the Deluxe Inn, to meet up with the woman’s boyfriend and straighten things out, according to court papers. As people in the vehicle were switching seats, the man was able to flee from the car. According to the affidavit, White grabbed the man by his shirt and ripped it off of him as the man fled across the street to the Work Release Center.
According to the police report, White is affiliated with the Aryan Brotherhood criminal organization, and Mulldune is affiliated with the Dirty White Boys criminal organization.
“Based upon the information provided by witnesses, (the detective) believes that the beating and rape of (the man) was punishment for interfering with the activities of criminal organizations with which White and Mulldune are affiliated,” the affidavit states.
When police spoke with Mulldune, according to the affidavit, Mulldune admitted to pistol whipping the man and said White put the gun in the man’s mouth at one point and threatened him, but denied everything else. Mulldune said he only hit the man one time and that was for lying to him about another incident.
According to court records, White is classified as a serious violent felon after being convicted of trafficking with an inmate in Wabash Circuit Court in 2012.
Both men had bonds set at $5,250, and no-contact orders were issued.
