SYRACUSE – Two Syracuse men were arrested Monday morning on meth-related charges. On Sunday, officers spoke to a confidential informant who said they were requested to purchase pseudoephedrine for Daniel Lloyd Rhamey, 29, of 1026 N. Harrison St., Syracuse, to manufacture methamphetamine, according to an affidavit. Officers attached an audio transmitter to the informant to monitor the conversation with Rhamey. The informant gave $30 and a clear plastic bag that contained a white powdery substance he obtained from Rhamey to the officers. Rhamey was searched and he had pseudoephedrine pills still in blister packs and a methamphetamine smoking device, according to the affidavit. On the floor, officers identified the box of pseudoephedrine the informant provided. The officers located Ryan Dunithen, 26, also residing in the residence, with a loaded .40 caliber semi automatic handgun. He admitted he uses meth on the weekends and that he purchases meth from Rhamey, according to the affidavit. Officers obtained consent to search the residence and they found a loaded .32 caliber revolver, 12 gauge shotgun, .22 caliber rifle, three plastic bags containing a white powdery substance that tested positive for meth weighing one gram and a smoking pipe with residue. In another room, officers found coffee filters, plastic bags, three containers of organic solvent and two funnels containing white powdery residue, according to the affidavit. In Rhamey’s bedroom, there were lithium batteries, tubing, digital scales, six plastic bags that contained white powdery substance of varying weight, a larger plastic bag that contained a white powdery substance and methamphetamine paraphernalia. There was a total weight of 16 grams that tested positive for meth. According to the affidavit, Rhamey said he allowed subjects to manufacture meth at his residence. He said he trades meth for pseudoephedrine pills to manufacture meth. Rhamey and Dunithen were both arrested early Monday morning.
