The Warsaw Board of Zoning Appeals approved both of Steve Petty's requests Monday night, allowing him two variances from developmental standards on his property, 1426 E. Jefferson St.
Petty now is allowed a 6-foot yard setback on the east side of his property and a 4 foot yard setback on the west side. Both setbacks were adjusted from the 7-foot setback requirement.
City planner Jeremy Skinner recommended Petty's requests, and said the variances would not be injurious to public health and safety. Petty's lot also is significantly smaller than the current requirements for a C-2 zoning district and the request allows more room for development. No adjacent neighbors of the property commented on the matter.
Members are Dan Hampton, Rick Keeven, Alan Clingan and Tom Heuer. Bruce Woodward was absent.
The BZA's next meeting is Aug. 22 at 7 p.m. in city hall.
