Two Promoted

Posted

On Aug. 23, two cadets, Chief Master Sergeant C.J. Pyle (top photo, R) and Chief Master Sergeant Antonio Mantey (bottom photo, R), received the Civil Air Patrol's 'Mitchell' award and were promoted to cadet second lieutenants. In order to achieve this promotion both passed from Phase II, the Leadership Phase, into Phase III, the Command Stage, of CAP's cadet training structure. Both have been training hard over several years to achieve this major accomplishment and had to pass a comprehensive leadership exam, aerospace exam and a rigorous physical fitness exam in order to achieve Mitchell award and to be promoted. Pictured with Pyle and Mantey is Warsaw Mayor Ernie Wiggins, who presented the awards. The Civil Air Patrol meets every Monday, except on holidays, at the National Guard Armory in Warsaw at 6:45.
