Posted

Two people received local sentences after preventing a father from having court-granted custody of his child.
Timothy Lee Mullin Sr., 67, Hagerstown, was sentenced for aiding kidnapping, a level 5 felony; perjury, a level 6 felony; and aiding interference with custody, a class B misdemeanor.
Anna Mae Mullin, 67, Hagerstown, was sentenced for kidnapping, a level 5 felony; and interference with custody, a class B misdemeanor.
Timothy and Anna's daughter, Jennifer L. Mullin, is facing four criminal charges in this case. Jennifer failed to appear for a hearing in January and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.
Timothy and Anna were both sentenced in Kosciusko Superior Court III on Tuesday, May 26.
For her case, Anna received a three-year sentence in the Kosciusko County Jail.
For his case, Timothy received a two-year, eight-month sentence, with 1-1/2 years of that sentence suspended on formal probation. The executed portion will be served in KCJ.
Affidavit Of Probable Cause
According to court documents, Jennifer was with the child's father in Kosciusko County until she left with the child to move in with her parents, Timothy and Anna, in Wayne County, located in east-central Indiana.
She then refused to bring the child to Kosciusko County for visits, with the father going to Wayne County to see the child or communicate with them via an iPad.
Jennifer eventually cut off the father's contact with the child, with the man getting an attorney and filing a paternity action on Oct. 31, 2024.
On Sept. 25, 2024, Jennifer alleged the father was sexually abusing the child. Warsaw Police asked Jennifer to return the following day with evidence of the crime, but she didn't return. Jennifer eventually came to the police station to provide video evidence, but police determined the videos didn't show evidence of sexual assault.
A Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office detective spoke with the child's father, who said he saw the videos and that the woman's voice in it was Jennifer. He also said he believes the day after the video was taken, Jennifer left with the child and began interfering with his access to them.
In April 2025, Kosciusko Superior Court IV ordered custody to be awarded fully to the child's father until further notice. The court cited 17 findings, including that Jennifer hadn't allowed parenting time and left with the child without family knowing where she was.
On June 4, 2025, Jennifer said the child was with Anna in Wayne County and was found in contempt of court for not bringing the child. When questioned by the court, Jennifer said Anna may have the child, though she was vague about the child's actual whereabouts.
That same day, Anna reportedly left her residence with the child, with Timothy telling authorities he hadn't seen Anna and the child and didn't know where they were.
On June 5, 2025, the child's father went to the Mullin family home to get the child, but Timothy told him he didn't know where the child or Anna were. It was later discovered Timothy had knowledge of where the two were or had been in communication with Anna.
During a jail call between Jennifer and Timothy on June 25, 2025, Jennifer said if anything happens to Anna and the child that Anna will contact Timothy and he won't be able to answer the call when it comes.
On July 8, 2025, Timothy told Jennifer that the child's father was staking out the parents' home, trying to find the child. Jennifer asked Timothy to contact someone else and make sure the "stalking" was reported to a local media outlet. A Kosciusko detective also believed the Mullin family was using "burner" phones.
Police later traveled to an Indianapolis residence where they found the child, whose hair had been dyed, and Anna. Jennifer also spoke with Timothy multiple times while in jail, asking family members to "blow up the story ASAP."
