Two Milford Women Killed In Saturday Afternoon Crash

WINONA LAKE – Two Milford women in their 70s died in a Saturday afternoon two-vehicle collision in Winona Lake.
At 4:43 p.m. Saturday, Kosciusko County dispatchers received a report of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Packerton Road and CR 225S, Winona Lake.
Upon arriving, police discovered a 2009 Dodge Journey and an overturned 2005 Pontiac Montana off the roadway on the southwest side of the intersection.
The driver of the Montana, Beverly A. Flannery, 73, Milford, and her front-seat passenger, Linda A. Musselman, 78, Milford, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
The driver of the Journey, Karlee Rae Marshall, 31, Warsaw, was taken to a Fort Wayne hospital with non-life threatening injuries to her arm and leg, according to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Chris Francis.
According to investigating deputies, the Montana entered the path of the Journey at the intersection. Prior to the collision, the Montana was traveling west on CR 225S, crossing Packerton Road, and the Journey was traveling south on Packerton Road, crossing CR 225S. The front end of the Journey struck the passenger side of the Montana, causing significant damage, according to the news release.
The crash remains under investigation by KCSO Fatal Team, and there is no indication of drug or alcohol use contributing to this crash, according to police.
Responding agencies were KCSO, Pierceton and Winona Lake police departments, Lutheran EMS, Lutheran Air Ambulance, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory and the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office.
