NORTH WEBSTER - Two North Webster men were jailed for operating an ATV while intoxicated on Webster Lake. Indiana Conservation Officers arrested Ronald Haskins, 40, and Zachary Ducey, 24, for operating an ATV while intoxicated Saturday at 11:30 p.m., according to a press release from the Indiana DNR Law Enforcement division. Officer Tyler Brock received a complaint of two ATVs operating recklessly on Webster Lake and found Haskins and Ducey a short time later near EMS W 30 Lane. Officer Brock suspected the two of alcohol consumption and determined by a certified breath test that Haskins had a blood-alcohol content of .143 and Ducey a BAC of .128, the release states. Indiana Conservation Officers want to remind the public that operating an ATV while consuming alcohol is an illegal and very dangerous act. When that is coupled with operating the ATV on a frozen lake the danger level is greatly enhanced. Always wear your helmets, seat belts, and other necessary protective gear while operating or a passenger on an ATV, the release states. Brock was assisted at the scene by officers from the North Webster Police Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deptartment and the Indiana State Police.
