The county’s drug task force continued its raid on methamphetamines Tuesday, busting two Plymouth men after learning they purchased meth-making products. Warsaw police received a report Tuesday that two men had left a Warsaw store with a large purchase of lye and lithium batteries. Authorities caught up to the men at another local store, where the men reportedly bought a sizable supply of pseudoephedrine, according to Sgt. Chad Hill of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. Police called in a K-9 to sniff out the men’s vehicle, and the dog gave a positive alert, Hill said. A subsequent search of the vehicle by Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers turned up finished methamphetamine, Hill said. Jack Oscar Haynes, 49, and Odis Shepherd, 41, were both arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine and meth-related precursors. Both men are being held in the Kosciusko County Jail awaiting possible formal charges and bond settings.
