Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept. deputies and emergency personnel responded today at 7:25 a.m. to the intersection of Ind. 25 and CR 550W after receiving calls of a crash. Officers arrived and located a blue 2001 Chevrolet, driven by Sabrina A. Gothan, 43, Mentone, that had been struck by a white, 2001 Chrysler, driven by Scott E. Cochran, 33, Warsaw. Gothan was removed from her vehicle and airlifted to Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, in serious condition with multiple injuries. Cochran was transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, in fair/stable condition, with shoulder pain. KCSD officers determined that Cochran was southbound on CR 550W and failed to yield at the intersection of Ind. 25. Cochran's vehicle impacted Gothan's vehicle that was travelling eastbound on Ind. 25. KCSD was assisted at the scene by the Burket and Mentone Fire Departments, along with Mentone and Lutheran EMS.
