Two Hurt In Friday AccidentA two-car collision in foggy conditions Friday night south of Warsaw resulted in two people being transported to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne with head injuries.
The collision at Ind. 15 and West CR 300S was called in to the Kosciusko County 911 dispatch center at 8:58 p.m. Friday.
Daniel W. Wintride, 54, Huntington, was driving his 2013 GMC?Terrain south on Ind. 15 when he collided with a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta, driven by 42-year-old Cory M. Thomas, South Packerton Road, Warsaw. Thomas was headed east on CR 300S.
Thomas and a passenger in his vehicle, Caleb Michael Greenwood, 22, Sharon Street, Warsaw, had to be extracted from the vehicle. A passenger in the Thomas vehicle and Greenwood’s daughter, Ariana Greenwood, 5, Tippecanoe Drive, Warsaw, was pulled from the vehicle by a citizen who stopped to help. Caleb and Ariana Greenwood were transported with head injuries in the same ambulance.
Wintride was taken by a separate ambulance to Lutheran in Fort Wayne with an unspecified injury. Thomas was treated at the scene, but refused further treatment.
Claypool Police assisted. Damage was estimated between $25,000-$50,000.
