Posted

Two people were injured when a pickup pulled out in front of them Thursday afternoon on Ind. 15, south of Warsaw.

Debra S. Tackett, 41, of School Avenue, Silver Lake, was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital for shoulder abrasions and released.

Her passenger, Rudy Tackett, was admitted to KCH with a fractured/dislocated hip or upper leg. He is currently in stable condition.

According to Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department reports, Dale A. DeGroff, 44, of Paxton Drive, Warsaw, was driving his pickup west on CR 200S, near Warsaw.

DeGroff told police he stopped at the intersection of Ind. 15 and CR 200S and saw no vehicles coming. He then pulled out onto Ind. 15, into the path of Tackett's pickup. Tackett told police she saw him pull out in front of her and tried to swerve to avoid the collision, but DeGroff's pickup struck her pickup. Tackett's pickup rolled over two times before coming to rest on its top on the side of the roadway. DeGroff was not injured. Damage to each pickup was estimated at $1,000-$2,500.
