SYRACUSE - Two men were arrested and drugs, drug paraphernalia and cash seized early this morning at a Syracuse residence.

Jason R. Bell, 20, of 604 Forest Lane, Syracuse, and James L. Hutchins, 20, of 1102 E. Lakeview Ave., Syracuse, each were charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and maintaining a common nuisance. Both are being held in the Kosciusko County Jail on $10,000 bond.

The arrests came about 4:30 a.m. when officers from the Syracuse Police Department and Indiana State Police executed a search warrant at Bell's residence.

During the search of the house, police seized 60 marijuana plants, other controlled substances, $2,000 cash and equipment associated with the growing of marijuana, according to a press release from Syracuse Town Marshal Tom Perzanowski.

Police said this investigation began as a result of an anonymous tip.
