Two File For Clay Township Trustee

Two people have filed for Clay Township trustee as of Monday, according to Kosciusko County Republican Party Central Committee Mike Ragan.
They are Spencer Bartlett and Cheryl Thompson.
The deadline to file is 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 27. The Republican caucus will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30 in the Claypool Lions Building.
The caucus was called by Ragan after the resignation of Clay Township Trustee Stephanie Stutzman due to personal reasons. Her resignation is effective Dec. 31.
The Clay Township trustee will be elected by secret ballot of the majority of members of the voting caucus to fill the vacancy in the office. Candidates must reside in Clay Township and be a Republican in good standing.
Declarations of candidacy are available at the office of Kosciusko County Clerk of the Circuit Court, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw, and must be filed with Ragan no later than 72 hours prior to the start of the caucus.
Eligible candidates will be allowed a maximum of three minutes to address the voting caucus.
