LEESBURG - Two men were arrested for allegedly making methamphetamine while children were present Thursday evening.
Adam Edward Hurley, 30, of 6886 E. May Lane, Leesburg, was arrested for felony manufacturing methamphetamine, neglect of a dependent and domestic battery. Jerimy Ray Horn, 31, of the same address, was arrested for felony manufacturing of methamphetamine. Both are being held without bond.
Around 7:36 p.m. Thursday, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Dept. deputies were called to do a welfare check at a residence near May Lane, Leesburg.
Officers were given information that there could be a meth lab at 6886 E. May Lane, Leesburg.
When officers from the sheriff's department and Kosciusko County Drug Task Force arrived at the residence, they reportedly found four active one-pot methamphetamine labs.
There were also three young children, ages 6, 3 and 1 inside the home while the meth was "cooking".
Child Protective Services was called immediately and took the children to their grandparents.
The Indiana State Police lab team also was called to dismantle and remove the math labs.
The meth arrest comes within 24 hours of the "Meth 2010: Killing A Community" program held in Warsaw Wednesday. The Indiana State Police Meth Suppression Unit and legal council, United Way, Bowen Center, Serenity House, Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office and the Kosciusko County Drug Task Force and Sheriff's Department participated in the program.
