Two Busted On Meth Charges

PIERCETON - Investigation of a suspicious vehicle turned into a pursuit, the discovery of drug labs and two arrests in Pierceton Friday morning.

According to information from the Pierceton Police Department, Steve Mullins, South Whitley, and Dennis Deaton, Pierceton, now face charges stemming from the incident.

Around 3 a.m. Friday, Pierceton Officer Matt Owens was inspecting a suspicious vehicle in the middle of the road on CR 250S east of Pierceton when the driver of the vehicle, later identified as Mullins, drove away from police.

While Owens was following the car, he reportedly noticed items being thrown out before the car crashed. The items were later found to be two active one-pot meth labs.

Mullins was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, where he received treatment. His passenger, Deaton, fled on foot and faces charges of aiding a criminal.The Indiana State Police was called to the scene to clean up the meth labs.

Winona Lake Police, Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Warsaw Police and the Indiana State Police assisted Pierceton at the scene during the incident.
