NORTH WEBSTER - Two houses were damaged this morning by fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation by the North Webster Fire Department.
According to a NWFD representative, one of the houses was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters responded to the 2:09 a.m. call at 24 EMS B67 Lane, just east of the Barbee Hotel.
Both houses are believed owned by the same person, but the name of the homeowner was not available this morning. Two occupants of one of the homes escaped without injury. Nobody was home at the second residence, according to officials.
Twenty firefighters were on the scene until 6:16 this morning. Pierceton Fire Department provided a tanker for assistance in extinguishing the fire.
Damage is estimated at $60,000.
