Two Banks Robbed Within Two HoursTwo banks in the county were robbed within two hours Monday, with the second robber ordering tellers to the ground at gunpoint.
First Federal Savings Bank, 402 E. Center St., Warsaw, Monday was robbed for the second time in the last six weeks.
A bank employee called Warsaw Police at 11:35 a.m. Monday and said a white male wearing a heavy, dark coat with a hood pulled over his head, wearing black pants and camouflage material covering his face entered the bank, displayed a note with his intention, then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of money.
A witness followed the suspect into the east-west alley between Center and Market streets, traveling east. The witness observed the suspect get into the passenger seat of a black smaller four-door vehicle, WPD Public Information Officer Det. Brad Kellar said. The getaway vehicle is suspected to be a foreign model sedan.
Investigators believe this is the same suspect who robbed the bank on Nov. 12, as well as the person who robbed Indiana Lakes Federal Credit Union just a few blocks away at 322 S. Detroit St. on Dec. 3.
Police believe he is a white male with a thin build and around 5’6” or 5’7” in height. The suspect was also in possession of a black backpack.
Until Monday’s robbery, investigators had no information as to whether a vehicle was involved in these robberies or if any other accomplices assisted the suspect, Kellar said.
The Warsaw Police Department has been in contact with local bank branches and sharing information with them regarding the case.

At 1:55 p.m. Monday, an armed robbery occurred at the Lake City Bank branch in?Pierceton.
The male subject entered the bank, displayed a black handgun and ordered the employees to the ground. Surveillance video shows the suspect wearing a cream-colored South Pole hooded sweatshirt with brown elbow patches, blue jeans, blue gloves with white tips and a blue bandana covering his face.
The suspect placed money in a red drawstring backpack with white lettering, before fleeing the bank on foot, Pierceton police said.
