Two Warsaw men were arrested Thursday in connection with the shootings of Claypool residents Gary Conley and Patsy Howard.
Arrested and being held without bond are Eric David Shaw, 22, 1103 S. Fisher Ave., Warsaw, and Fernando Ramos, 17, 1314 St. Mary's, Warsaw.
Both face charges of attempted murder. The arrests were made after 5 p.m. Thursday.
According to information released by the sheriff's department, the shooting was gang related and the result of a cocaine deal between Ramos and Conley. Five ounces of cocaine and two handguns have been recovered.
Police believe one of the handguns recovered may be the weapon used in the shooting.
Tests are being conducted by the Indiana State Police lab on the two weapons recovered to determine if either was the weapon used in the shooting.
Police said more arrests may be made in the case, pending further investigation.
Conley and Howard were shot through a bedroom window of their home at 356 W. CR 900S at approximatley 3:20 a.m. Tuesday.
Conley suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. He remains hospitalized in Fort Wayne in critical condition. Howard suffered a leg wound and was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital and released.
Departments involved in the investigation include the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department, Kosciusko Special Operations team, Warsaw City Police Department, Indiana State Police and the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms.
