On Friday at approximately 8:33 p.m., Warsaw police responded to the 2500 block of East Center Street for a complaint of a suspicious person behind Papa John’s Pizza.
Police located a female behind the business and identified her from previous contacts as Mandy M. Schultz, 32, of 1116 E. Market St., Warsaw.
Schultz gave police permission to search her belongings and several hypodermic needles and a cellophane wrapper containing a white powdery substance was found.
Schultz stated she uses hypodermic needles to inject drugs into her body to take away the pain. A field test kit showed the substance as methamphetamine.
Schultz told officers she was there to meet a Papa John’s employee who was on a delivery. The employee, Christopher E. Baldridge, 43, of 227 N. Roosevelt St., returned while officers were still on scene and an external K9 search of the vehicle indicated the presence of illegal drugs.
A search of the blue 2000 Chevrolet S10 truck produced a substance in aluminum foil and several cotton balls, known to be commonly used with methamphetamine. The substance and cotton balls were field tested and they all tested positive for methamphetamine.
Both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Kosciusko County Jail on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and misdemeanor charges of possession of paraphernalia.
