AKRON - A crash in southwest Kosciusko County Sunday sent two Akron men to a Fort Wayne Hospital.
Kerguin L. Baca, 26, Akron, was southbound on CR 1000W whe he drove off the road and hit a tree before rolling over. Baca was airlifted to Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, where he was listed in serious but stable condition.A passenger in Baca's vehicle, Yovani Luva, 17, Akron, was also airlifted to Parkview Hospital and was listed in critical but stable condition this morning.
According to the Kosciusko Coutny alcohol crash investigation team, Baca and Luva were extricated from the car by emergency rescue teams from Akron and Mentone and they were airlifted from the scene of the crash.
Officials do not know what caused Baca's vehicle to leave the roadway.
Crash investigation team members believe alcohol could have been a factor in the crash, but legal blood test results are pending.
The accident remains under investigation at this time by the Kosciusko County crash investigation team.
