INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita placed former Leesburg resident Matt Tusing under oath as deputy secretary of state and chief of staff this week in a swearing-in ceremony Monday at the Indiana State House.
"Secretary Rokita's leadership motivates those of us who want to make Indiana a better place to work and live," Tusing said.
"I am absolutely humbled to help Rokita continue to move Indiana in a new direction - a direction of increased integrity in our elections and increased security in our economic development."
Tusing joins Secretary Rokita after working for the Indiana Attorney General's office where he advised on matters related to professional licensing and investigations. He previously served Indiana as deputy communications director in the Indiana House of Representatives.
Tusing is a graduate of Warsaw Community High School, and holds a degree from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He is finishing a law degree with Indiana University School of Law-Indianapolis.
"Matt brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership experience from his work with the Indiana House of Representatives and the Indiana Attorney General." Rokita said.
