Poll inspectors said voting was slow this morning during the primary.
Voting is open today from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Jack Volkers, poll inspector for the second ward, second precinct, at Warsaw City Hall said this is his third year as a poll inspector and he said voting is slow, but higher than he expected.
As of 8 a.m., there were 14 people who voted out of 550 registered voters.
“In the presidential election we had 130 people vote out of 550,” Volkers said.
At the fifth ward, first precinct, at Center Lake Pavilion, poll inspector Shirley Tatter said there were 23 voters out of 605 as of 8 a.m.
“Turnout is poor and slow because of the rain and not many races,” Tatter said.
In the fifth ward, second precinct, at Center Lake Pavilion, Josephine Durecki said there were 15 voters out of 580 as of 8 a.m.
“Turnout is low. People are not responsible and they don’t vote,” Durecki said.
In ward five, precinct three voting at Center Lake Pavilion, there were seven voters out of 576. Beth Premetz, poll inspector, said voting has been slow.
At the second ward, first precinct Jennifer Whitaker, poll inspector, at the Kosciusko County Shrine Building said there were 12 people who voted out of 966 as of 9 a.m.
In the third ward, first precinct at the Shrine Building, Carl Ellis, poll inspector, said 51 people voted out of 1,103 registered voters as of 9 a.m.
