Continuously serving Kosciusko County since 1854
SYRACUSE - Jerry Byrd has been replaced as the fire chief of Turkey Creek Township and Syracuse.
The change was made Monday during a special end-of-the-year meeting.
Larry Hunter was named a temporary replacement until council and the Turkey Creek trustees can meet to select a replacement.
A date for that meeting has not been set, according to town manager Matt Vigneault.
No public explanation for the change was given.
Council approved the change unanimously.
Other personnel in appointed positions were retained.
