Kosciusko County officials released a statement today after an investgation into the Tuesday morning fire at 7138 E. CR 500S, just south of Pierceton. “A joint investigation was conducted by the Fire Investigation Team of Kosciusko County and the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office,” according to the release. “Based on the information found at the scene, the fire is being ruled as suspicious and will remain under investigation by the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office, The Fire Investigation Team of Kosciusko County and Kosciusko County Sherriff’s Department.” Firefighters from Pierceton Fire, Sidney Fire and Jackson, Washington, Chester, Richland and Cleveland townships responded to the fire. The house, owned by Michael and Chloe Neer, was a total loss.
