Newmar Corp. of Nappanee has established a trust fund for the 2-year-old daughter of a murdered woman.
Keith Weirich, director of human relations at Newmar, said Thursday that a fund has been established at NBD Bank in Nappanee for Jessica Hershberger. Her mother, EIizabeth Hershberger, died after she was stabbed Wednesday morning at Newmar.
Elizabeth's ex-boyfriend and Jessica's father, Tony DeBatty, 40, Nappanee, admitted to the murder in court Thursday morning.
DeBatty allegedly went to the plant, asked directions to find Hershberger and began stabbing her as coworkers watched.
Checks for the trust fund can be made out to First Brethren Church, FBO Jessica. They can be sent to NBD Bank, 351 W. Market St., Nappanee, 46550; or First Brethren Church, 1600 N. Main St., Nappanee, 46550. Donations can also be made at any NBD branch in the Goshen, Elkhart or South Bend area.
