A crash that resulted in a pickup being wrapped around a tree Friday night sent two young men to the hospital.
According to Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Sgt. Chris Francis, KCSO responded to a wreck at 10:25 p.m. at CR 450E, south of Old Road 30 in Washington Township.
Preliminary investigations determined a 2004 Ford F250 pickup, driven by Colten M. King, 18, of Larwill, was traveling north on CR 450E when, for an unknown reason, King lost control of the pickup.
The pickup left the west side of the road and struck a tree, ejecting King, Francis said.
Nash A. Brown, 19, of South Whitley, was a passenger in the truck and was partially ejected from the crash.
King was taken to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne for a head injury, and Brown was taken to Parkview Regional Medical Center for injuries to his lower body.
KCSO was assisted at the scene by Lutheran EMS, Pierceton Fire Department, Winona Lake Police Department and the North Webster/Tippecanoe Township Fire Department.
The crash remains under investigation by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Team, Francis said.
