Troop 715, Pack 3715 Attend Camporee

Posted
FORT WAYNE - Cub Scout Pack 3715 joined Boy Scout Troop 715 to attend the Anthony Wayne Area Council's Fall Camporee held at IPFW in Fort Wayne.

Approximately 1,500 Scouts and leaders from 11 counties were at the event. On Saturday, there were more than 50 attractions taking place down the midway.

A re-enactment of a traffic accident took place involving a drunk driver and a van with four "Scouts" in it. Fire engines arrived; the jaws of life was used to remove doors and take the hard top off. To make the scene more realistic, an actual hospital helicopter flew in and airlifted three "injured" Scouts out. One boy was put into a body bag (which a hearse drove away with), the drunk driver was handcuffed and taken away in a police car, and a mother grieved for her son.

Also, there was a GPS course, totem pole carving, a robotic bomb removal demonstration, and numerous other events, plus games for the Cub Scouts.
