Troop 715 Goes Fly Fishing

Posted
In October Lou Milos showed the Boy Scouts from Troop 715 how to tie a fly fishing lure and gave each of them a lure to be used at William Bibler’s pond. The Scouts went fly fishing with Dan Gast and Steve Stayer.

Some of the Scouts were lucky enough to catch a blue gill for their Fly Fishing Merit Badge.

The Scouts started the Orienteering Merit Badge, which is being taught by Bill Bibler. We discussed how to use a compass and find directions.

A committee of Scouts and adult leaders was formed to start planning next summer’s trip. White water rafting, visiting Gettysburg or Washington, D.C., were some of the ideas discussed.

A boy who is at least 10 years old or who has completed the fifth grade can join Boy Scouts. Boy Scout Troop 715 meets Mondays at 7 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Warsaw.
