Posted
BOURBON - In a game between the last two Class 1A state champions, it was the third-ranked Triton Trojans who looked the part Friday.

Posting its 20th win of the year, Triton (20-2) hit 28 of its 56 shots, crushing the Oregon-Davis Bobcats (2-18) in the Class 1A Sectional 50 semifinals, 66-36 in Bourbon. While Triton, the defending 1A state champion, was on fire from the field, O-D hit just 10 of its 26 shots, including 3 of 11 in the first half, resulting in the lopsided outcome.

The Trojans' defense also lent a heavy hand in the win, forcing 21 Bobcat turnovers, compared to just six of their own. In the process, Triton converted those turnovers into 30 points.

Senior Colton Keel finished with a game-high 20 points, 11 rebounds and three blocked shots for the Trojans.

Accompanying Keel's effort, Triton junior Ben Montalbano had a game-high six assists and four steals, while senior Joel Meister finished with 16 points and Jordan Everett had nine points.

O-D was led by Matt Richie's 12 points.

Triton will now play the Argos Dragons (14-7) tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the sectional championship. Argos reached the finals by defeating the South Central Satellites 60-51 in Friday's other semifinal.

In their regular season matchup, the Trojans defeated the Dragons 62-55 Feb. 3 in Argos.
