Triton's Carpenter Named IHSGCA Coach Of The Year

BOURBON — Triton High School boys and girls golf coach Jack Carpenter has been named the Indiana High School Golf Coaches Association’s 2013 Coach of the Year.
During the spring season, Carpenter’s boys golf team finished 14th at the state finals, posting a 617.
Leading the Trojans were the graduated Ryan Rapp, who shot a four-under 142, finishing fifth individually, while Carpenter’s son Quentyn Carpenter posted a one-over 145, placing 24th.
The IHSGCA splits the state into five regions, with Carpenter being the Regional 2 Coach of the Year, as well as the overall State Coach of the Year.
Other regional coaches of the year were Valparaiso’s Wayne Lichtenberger (Regional 1), Pendleton Heights’ Jim Phillips (Regional 3), Avon’s Tom Maples (Regional 4) and Columbus North’s Doug Bieker (Regional 5).
