BOURBON — A strong second half helped the Triton football team put an end to its 14-game Northern State Conference losing streak Friday in Bourbon. Hosting Knox, the Triton Trojans found themselves down 7-0 after one quarter, but scored 29-straight points en route to a 35-15 victory, improving to 2-6 on the season and 1-5 in the NSC. Triton junior Jeremy Jones had touchdown runs of 66, 51 and 89 yards, all coming in the fourth quarter, as he finished with 223 yards on 21 carries. Senior quarterback Grant Stichter was just 4 of 11, but two of those completions were touchdowns to senior Joey Corder, who also converted a 25-yard field goal in the victory. The Trojans finished the game with 310 total rushing yards, as Stichter had 39 and Jayden Hargrave had 33. Defensively, Stichter had two interceptions of his own and the Trojans recovered four Knox fumbles. Triton closes out its regular season Friday at Jimtown.
