Triton Tennis Team Ties For NSC Lead In Roundup

BOURBON — The Triton boys tennis team earned a share of the Northern State Conference lead with a 3-2 home win against Jimtown Wednesday.
Triton now sits at 4-1 in the conference, the same NSC mark as Jimtown and Bremen.
Against the Jimmies, the Trojans posted a 3-2 win, getting victories from Jeff Ross and Dean Howdeshell at No. 1 and 2 singles, respectively.
Also for Triton, its No. 1 doubles team of Pete Kauffman and Lucas Shafer won.
Triton now sits at 8-4 overall and will be at Saturday’s Merrillville Invitational before heading to John Glenn for its final NSC match of the season Tuesday.

The Manchester boys tennis team suffered a 5-0 home loss to DeKalb Wednesday. The loss leaves the Squires at 4-5 going into tonight’s Three Rivers Conference home match against Whitko. Manchester then hosts Columbia City Monday.

At Plymouth’s Swan Lake Golf Club, the Plymouth girls golf team shot a 182, followed by LaVille’s 216 and Triton’s 233. The medalist on the par-36 course was Plymouth’s Emily Berger, who shot a 43, while Triton’s Hannah Jennings and Lizzy Erne each finished with a 50. The 4-13 Lady Trojans will be at Saturday’s Warsaw Sectional at Stonehenge Golf Club.
