In conclusion of their study of The Middle Ages, and as a prelude to their trip to Medieval Times in Shaumburg, Ill., the sixth-graders from Mrs. McFarland, Mrs. Watkins and Mr. Heckaman’s class at Triton Elementary School created Family Shield and Coat of Arms projects. They created shields unique to their family. Along with the shields, the students researched their last names, Heraldry symbols and Heraldic colors used on their shields.
