Triton Elementary School had its annual science fair on Feb. 1 during school hours. The school had approximately 90 science projects from fourth through sixth grade. The judging of these projects came from Bethel College education students and Steve Jeffrey. Top projects (L to R) are: sixth-grade Notre Dame regional qualifiers: Jenna Swihart, Delanie Groves, Grant Eib, Kaitlyn Bailey and Mary Yeo (alternate). Fifth-grade winners (not pictured) are Russell Richard, Jared Bules, Alyxa Viers, Hannah Miles and Haley Hooley. Fourth-grade winners (not pictured) are Lily Hubert, Trent Barnhart, Brandon Kitch, Joslyn Kuhn and Lexia Hostrawser. Each child had to come up with their own ‘Big Question’ and research and solve their project using the steps to the scientific method. The Notre Dame Northern Indiana Regional Science Fair will take place March 2 and start time is 7:45 a.m. The students who participated in the science fair this year enjoyed an all-you-can-eat ice cream social afterward to reward them for their hard work.
