BOURBON – At Triton Elementary, 33 sixth-graders participated in a program called “The Pushcart Wars” for the last seven weeks of school. These student read the book “The Pushcart Wars” and discussed topics like economics, point of view, unfair taxes and market inflation, conspiracy theories, cost analysis, profit and loss, power of public demonstrations and had to research and create a business of their own. Their businesses were displayed May 17, and the entire elementary student body was able to buy their products during their lunch hour. There was a total of 11 businesses and they raised a total of $1,352 for Triton Elementary.
