Triton Names Top Grads

BOURBON - Emily Yankovich is the valedictorian for the Triton Junior-Senior High School graduating class of 2000, and Rob Salyer is the salutatorian.

A member of National Honor Society, Yankovich is president of the Art Club, a silver key award winner in the regional Scholastic Art Show and the recipient of an Indiana State Museum of Art Award.

The daughter of Frank and Betty Yankovich, Bourbon, Yankovich is an Indiana Academic Honors Diploma recipient and a Presidential Academic Award winner. She was Triton's DAR good citizen, a three-year varsity volleyball player, and was voted most valuable player for Triton this year, as well as being selected for the volleyball all-state second team and the volleyball academic all-state team.

She plans to attend Adrian College, Michigan, and study art design and business.

Rob Salyer is an Indiana Academic Honors Diploma recipient and a Presidential Academic Award winner. He is a member of National Honor Society, a reporter for Triton's chapter of Future Business Leaders of America and a member of Science Club. He was Triton's representative to Hoosier Boys' State and to Kosciusko County Youth Leadership Academy.

The son of Robert and Treva Salyer, Etna Green, he is a varsity athlete in basketball, football and baseball, and was selected for the Indiana academic all-state football team. Salyer also is a member of the Maranatha Chapel.

He plans to attend Indiana State University, where he has been awarded a Rural Health Program Scholarship for his study of medical science.
