Triton Learning About Government

Posted

Mrs. Strycker’s third-grade class at Triton Elementary School has been learning about the branches of government. They learned that there are three main parts known as the legislative, executive and judicial branches. Students discovered that the reason for three branches is to prevent any one group of people from becoming too powerful and creating bad rules or laws for everyone else. Students created foldable envelopes in their journals, learned facts to make fact cards for each department and then matched them to the right areas of government. Teams of classmates later were able to play a game where they had to correctly sort out the jobs of each branch. Pictured are Anthony Schuh and Lucas Kaufman.
