Triton Hosts Financial Aid Night

Posted
BOURBON - Triton High School will host a financial aid night Jan. 14 at 7 p.m. in the high school library.

This program will provide financial aid information to high school seniors and their parents, or anyone else in the community who plans to attend a post-secondary institution during the 2008-09 school year.

Kathy Mills, a financial aid administrator from Ancilla College, will explain how to accurately complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, which is required by most colleges for financial aid consideration. She will troubleshoot the process of filing an electronic FAFSA on the Web. Parents and students should bring the FAFSA on the Web worksheets to their meeting. If parents/students prefer to fill out a paper FAFSA instead of the electronic FAFSA on the Web, they should download a copy and print it out from www.fsapubs.org or call 800-394-7084 to request a copy be sent to them.

Hugh Rettinger, guidance counselor, will give a brief update about local scholarships available to Triton students.

An optional session at the end also will be available to students who reside in Kosciusko County. A representative from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation will explain the process of applying for numerous scholarships through this organization.
