Triton Handily Sweeps West Central In HNAC Baseball

FRANCESVILLE – Triton collected 33 hits in sweeping a Hoosier North Athletic Conference doubleheader over host West Central, 24-1 and 12-2 Saturday. In the first game the Trojans scored 10 runs in the second inning to salt the game away. Zac Pitney and Adam Stevens hit home runs, Dylan Hensley doubled twice and Max Slusser and Lucas Newman both hit two-baggers in the opener. Hensley pitched five innings and struck out eight for the winners. Triton, as the home team in the second game, scored four runs in the first and third innings, sandwiched around a three-run second inning. Nate Flenar had three hits, scored twice and drove in three runs, and Hensley added two hits and scored twice. Pitney was the winning pitcher, striking out nine in six innings of work.
