Posted

BOURBON - A game that saw two players top the 30-point mark, NorthWood's varsity boys basketball team downed host Triton 73-66 in overtime Friday.

Senior Todd Blackford did all he could for host Triton, hitting six three-pointers and going 5 of 7 at the free throw line en route to a game-high 33 points, but it was Ryne Lightfoot's NorthWood Panthers that got the victory.

Lightfoot finished with 31 for NorthWood, while teammates Scott Mast and Josh Sabo added 12 each.

Triton, which hit 10 three-pointers in the game, trailed 53-43 after three quarters of play, but the Trojans outscored NorthWood 19-9 in the final eight minutes before the Panthers took the overtime session by an 11-4 count.

The Trojans fall to 0-2 on the season and play at North Miami Tuesday.
