Triton Boys Tennis Team Knocks Off Bremen To Lead Roundup

BOURBON — The Triton boys tennis team knocked off Bremen 4-1 Monday evening at home.
The Northern State Conference victory improves Triton’s overall record to 7-5, while it sits at 2-1 in the NSC.
In the win, Dean Howdeshell won 6-2, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and Jared Fisher got a three-set victory at No. 2 singles, 1-6, 6-3, 6-0.
On the doubles courts, Triton’s No. 1 team of Lucas Shafer and Darrin Harrell were 6-1, 6-3 victors and the No. 2 team of Jake Oldham and Austin Sellers won 6-0, 6-1.
The Triton Trojans are right back in NSC play tonight at home against New Prairie.

At Central Noble Monday, the Whitko boys tennis team posted a 5-0 victory. For Whitko, Tyler Baugher won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 singles and the Wildcats’ No. 1 doubles team of Reed Brace and Bailey Platt were 6-1, 6-3 victors. The Wildcats host Manchester Thursday.

Hosting the 22nd-ranked Penn boys tennis team Monday, the Warsaw Tigers dropped a 4-1 decision. Evan Miller recorded the Tigers’ lone victory, defeating Penn’s Stewart Feeley 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3 singles. The 7-4 Tigers look to extend their 11-match Northern Lakes Conference win streak tonight at Wawasee.

The Tippecanoe Valley boys tennis team dropped a 3-2 Three Rivers Conference decision at Rochester Monday evening. In the loss, Valley’s No. 1 doubles team of Trevor Neeley and Willy Inglehearn won, as did the No. 2 team of Lucas Britton and Wyatt Nelson. The Vikings will be at Saturday’s Knox Invitational.

Playing at Marion’s Meshingomesia Country Club Monday, the Manchester girls golf team defeated Northfield, but fell to Marion. Marion finished the par-36 with a 185, followed by Manchester’s 233 and Northfield’s 258. Marion’s Kayla Adamson finished with a three-over 39 and Manchester’s top player was Claire Barnett, who finished with a 50. The Lady Squires are at Columbia City Thursday.
