BOURBON – The Triton boys basketball team picked up a Northern State Conference victory Saturday at home, defeating the LaVille Lancers 67-54. The Trojans jumped out to an 18-11 lead after one quarter, and that seven-point lead was enough of a cushion that LaVille couldn't bounce back. Triton dominated on the boards, outrebounding LaVille 46-26, and it also attempted 30 free throws, but made just 15 of them. Triton is now 9-6 overall and 3-2 in the NSC, while LaVille also now sits at 3-2 in the conference and 6-7 overall. Senior Tanner Shepherd posted a double-double in the win, scoring 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Also for Triton, Dillon Meadway had 14 points and seven rebounds, Joey Corder finished with nine points, 11 rebounds and four assists. Triton is at Bremen Friday night.
