Triton Advances To 1A Sectional Final With 58-40 WinBOURBON – Sometimes a team getting a sectional first-round bye comes out sluggish against an opponent with a game under its belt. Senior Grant Johnson led the way for the Trojans, hitting 7 of 11 shots from the field and all seven of his free throws for a game-high 21 points. Zac Pitney hit 7-of-8 free throws and scored nine points for Triton. Triton enjoyed a 22-7 advantage from the free throw line. Three Culver Community players fouled out of the game. Josh Krsek scored 11 points to lead the Cavaliers, who finished with a 12-11 record for the season. Triton will take on No. 10 Oregon-Davis (19-6) in the sectional title game at 7 p.m. today. The Bobcats advanced with a 63-55 win over Argos in the nightcap Friday. Triton and Oregon-Davis opened the season against each other in Hamlet, with the Bobcats coming out on top 58-42 on Nov. 23.
