Trial For Soto, Bronson Moved To Aug. 1

ELKHART – The trial of the two men who were indicted with Kosciusko County Sheriff Aaron Rovenstine has been rescheduled for August.
The trial for former Grace College professor Mark Soto and former mixed martial instructor Kevin Bronson has been rescheduled for Aug 1.
Elkhart Superior Court Judge I Evan Roberts issued the order Friday during a status conference.
Soto and Bronson originally were scheduled to face charges in April after police allege that they threatened and used racketering activity to try and raise money for a film about Bronson’s life.
The trial was moved when Rovenstine’s jury trial was continued in February.
Rovenstine is facing 10 felony counts that allege that he allowed Bronson special privileges while he was in jail, including allowing Bronson and Soto to meet unmonitored. Rovenstine’s trial begins April 3 with three days scheduled for jury selection.
Previous court documents have indicated that prosecutors are close to a plea deal with Bronson.
Roberts set a plea deal deadline for 30 days before the trial begins.
