As for someone who has never done the job of picking up trash, I would understand where people would have no clue how hard the job really is.
Most don't understand that these men bust their butt everyday, and many times without any thanks what so ever. People throw their loose trash in a can and with moist weather conditions trash gets stuck to the can. This is not their job to clean your trash can. Use the proper strength trash bag for the trash you have, then place the lid on your can so it will help keep the moister out as much as possible.
Also, when the neighbor's dog comes over and tears out your trash or even those days we have high winds, and your trash is strung all over your yard, it is not their job to pick up your lawn.
Then you have the wonderful people who try to sneak in items that they know are not allowed to be hauled, such as gallons of paint, tires and car batteries. This isn't because they want to be a pain in the rear to you, but our local landfill is not allowed to accept these items. This is why there are proper disposal centers for such items.
Can you imagine going to 200 to 500 homes everyday in the elements of Indiana weather dealing with busted trash bags, trash containers that weigh over 75 pounds of trash, insect-infested trash, and broken trash containers? These are some of the very few things these men have to deal with on a daily basis and do them quickly, so they can run them to the local landfill and dump trash, and prepare to do it again the next day.
I understand for someone that has no idea what these people go through would be upset, because they may have a couple papers laying in their yard that was stuck in your trash container. No one is perfect, but face it, they are doing a job most would never do. Try it some time.
