MILFORD -ÊAccording to a representative from CSX Railroad, the cause of a Wednesday train derailment near Miford is still under investigation.
Around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday, a train operating from Danville, W.Va., to Chicago, Ill., carrying 105 loaded freight cars, derailed, closing two tracks near Milford. The cars were carrying full loads of coal.
Twenty-nine of the 105 cars derailed, blocking both lines of rail track in that area.
The cars were re-railed around 1 a.m. today, and one line of the tracks was expected to open this morning. The second track was expected to open sometime late this afternoon.
No injuries were reported during the accident.
