An alleged drug dealer is behind bars and facing felony charges after he was pulled over for speeding.

David Lee Hyde, 54, of 665 W. Jefferson St., Warsaw, was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail at 4:51 p.m. Saturday and faces charges for dealing in methamphetamine, a Level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

According to the probable cause affidavit filed Aug. 21 in Kosciusko Circuit Court, on Jan. 16 an Indiana State trooper observed a silver Nissan Versa traveling faster than the posted speed limit near Armstrong Road and CR 300E in Oswego.

When the trooper approached the vehicle, being driven by Hyde, Hyde acted nervous, according to court papers.

A K-9 detected drugs in the vehicle, and police located plastic bags containing methamphetamine, digital scales, a glass smoking device and a bag of marijuana. The collective weight of the methamphetamine was approximately 16.2 grams.

There were two other occupants in the vehicle, according to court papers, one of which told police that Hyde is her drug dealer.

Hyde’s bond was set at $25,850.
